Léman Manhattan Preparatory School is seeking a full-time IB Math Teacher! This position is a leave replacement role that will begin April 5th-June 15th.

Reports to:Head of Upper School with dotted line to Director of IB Programming
This position consists of a full-time high school teaching assignment including IB mathematics. The high school operates on an 8-period rotating block schedule, and teachers are assigned to teach 5 of 8 blocks and serve as advisors.
Secondary license in Mathematics with a preference for a master’s degree
Successful experience teaching IB Mathematics or equivalent
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers and others
Positive attitude and collaborative outlook
Ability to differentiate instruction for all learners
Proven ability to develop and deliver successful academic programs
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Recent and relevant professional development in teaching and learning
Proven ability to work in a diverse, international academic environment
Experience working in an IB Diploma school
Experience supervising student activities
Experience working with standards-based grading
General Teaching Responsibilities. Teachers at Léman Manhattan are expected to:
Plan, map and effectively implement rigorous, differentiated, and inquiry-based lessons that challenge students to think critically and are in alignment with course standards and prescribed curriculum.
Create a safe learning environment with an atmosphere of trust and respect.
Use a wide range of summative and formative assessment strategies consistent with course content and objectives.
Communicate and liaise on a regular basis with fellow department members with regards to planning, assessment, and curriculum mapping.
Communicate and liaise with other school colleagues on issues including discipline and academic student concerns.
Take an active role in pastoral care of class groups including an Advisory to promote social and emotional health and development.
Attend and constructively contribute to faculty meetings.
Assist in supervision of student breaks and other duties.
Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, and communication with parents.
Establish links with the parent community to ensure that parents are kept well informed about student progress.
Participate in and assist with school events as required.
Work Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; Friday – 8:00 am to 3:30 pm
