Responsibilities:  

The teacher should bring energy and passion for teaching Spanish to the World Language department. Other responsibilities and necessary competencies include the following:

• Demonstrating a passion for the Spanish language and culture
• Experience developing curriculum and creating vertical alignment between all Spanish levels 1-AP
• Exhibiting excellent teaching skills that demonstrate best practice according to ACTFL
• Teaching five sections (from level two to level four depending on need)
• Understanding the development of upper school students and displaying a passion for working with this age group
• Advising approximately 12 students, facilitating the “Lead from Here” curriculum, and meeting with parents of advisees
• Connecting with students, challenging them, and shifting pedagogical practice to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Interacting effectively with parents and colleagues
• Participating in other aspects of the School community - coaching a sport highly preferred
