The Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education of Camden Central School have initiated a search for an Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. The Board of Education will appoint the successful candidate to a three year probationary appointment which will commence July 1, 2021. The anticipated salary will be commensurate based on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise the Director of Special Education, Coordinator of Instructional Technology and Data, and other district- wide department leaders.
Coordinate the development and implementation of K-12 curriculum and assist in the selection of instructional materials.
Coordinate recruitment, selection, and state certification requirements in regard to all instructional personnel. Direct the organization and administration of the NYS K-12 Standardized Assessments.
Facilitate all diagnostic testing and data review procedures.
Coordinate the reporting of student performance to evaluate student progress and program effectiveness.
Submit grant applications, program plans, corrective action plans, and staff performance reports.
Serve as Sexual Harassment Officer, Records Access Officer, Title IX Compliance Officer, BEDS Coordinator, and Homeless Liaison.
Coordinate professional development by working collaboratively with the Professional Learning Committee.
Oversee the substitute service.
Oversee the Pre-Kindergarten Program, ELL, and the Early Intervention Program.
Assist the Assistant Superintendent for Business in contract negotiations and budget development related to staffing.
Serve as member of the Administrative Cabinet, and collaborate regarding district initiatives.
Assume charge of the district in the Superintendent’s absence.
Certification: New York State Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL).
Leadership: Proven leader who promotes trust and confidence through integrity-based leadership.
Commitment: Demonstrate commitment, energy, and enthusiasm in providing effective instructional leadership.
Curriculum and Instruction: Informed educational leader able to examine educational trends and engage district personnel in the development of meaningful programs. Demonstrate expertise with current learning theory, research-based instruction, NYS standards, and assessments. Have a strong understanding of the foundations of math, literacy, and reading instruction: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships and interact effectively with staff, faculty, students, parents, community, and the Board of Education.
Successful administrative experience as a district leader is strongly preferred. Experience at both the elementary and secondary levels is desirable.
Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of current state and federal laws and regulations governing special education technology.
Personnel Management: Possess the ability and knowledge necessary to direct the district pupil personnel services. Knowledge of Human Resources related regulations, budgeting, and hiring practices.
Data: Possess the ability to analyze data to make informed decisions for improving student performance at both the elementary and secondary levels.
