St. Richard’s is currently seeking a full-time French teacher for the 2021-2022 academic school year. The position includes responsibilities of co-leading, with the other French teacher, the Back-to-Back French Exchange program at St. Richard’s.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
This successful candidate should possess the following:
Verbal and written proficiency and fluency in the French language.
Specific training and experience teaching the French language and culture in a developmentally appropriate manner.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred.
A strong understanding of the unique learning needs of students and ability to differentiate instruction to meet these needs.
A sensitivity and knowledge of the needs of a diverse community and the ability and commitment to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
The intentional use of best instructional strategies and applications.
The ability to develop, implement, and analyze curriculum.
The ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the faculty and world language team to support students and colleagues.
A positive, respectful and effective approach to classroom management.
An ability to communicate effectively with the entire school community including students, colleagues, parents, support staff and administration.
A willingness and the ability to engage in learning experiences and professional development beyond the classroom.
A willingness and skillset to co-lead the school’s grade 5 Back-to-Back travel exchange program, including traveling with students on a regular basis.
A willingness and responsibility to uphold the mission of the school.
