The Meadowbrook School of Weston, a pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school located in Weston, MA, seven miles west of Boston, is seeking a full-time Lower School Math Specialist to join our faculty for the 2021-2022 school year. Meadowbrook is a mission-driven school and we invite candidates to familiarize themselves with our mission before applying for the position.
We seek an educator with a demonstrated background or interest in cultural competency, curriculum development, and technology integration. Mathematics at Meadowbrook follows the Singapore Math program in all grades and is taught a grade level ahead. Additionally, grouping by ability and performance begins at first grade.
*Full time teaching Lower School math teacher (grades Junior Kindergarten to 5)
*Support students in a variety of ways including direct instruction for acceleration, general instruction, and provide more review and reteaching for students who need it
*Assist in overseeing scope and sequence of the Lower School Math program
*Write narrative reports and complete checklists for students
*Participate in parent/guardian conferences and to support the parent/guardian/teacher and home/school partnerships
*Collaborate closely with the Lower School Math Coordinator
*Modeling, coaching, and supporting teachers in the implementation of differentiated instructional practices and working to support their growth
*Assist in the data collection for performance based group placement

Qualifications and Experience:
*Advanced degree in mathematics education or certification as an elementary math specialist (Preferred)
*Familiarity with Singapore Math curriculum (preferred)
*A minimum of three years elementary school aged students, in particular, experience in mathematic instruction
*Demonstrated experience with current best practices in child-centered instructional methods such as project-based learning, design thinking, making thinking visible, etc.
*Collaborative skills, including the ability to work with adults
*Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
*Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
