Qualifications:
• Two years elementary lead teaching experience preferred
• Responsible for writing and overseeing students Individual Learning Plans in partnership with co-teachers.
• Responsible for planning weekly lesson plans in connection with City Kids curriculum and methodologies.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice and classroom management.
• Knowledge of literacy across the curriculum.
• Developed skills in conflict resolution and empowerment with respect of children and parents.
• Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
• Committed to the idea of continued personal and professional growth as an educator.

Essential Functions/Duties:
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record. This job requires driving vans.
• Provide a safe and secure environment and ensure that children are supervised at all times
• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children
• Attend all mandatory meetings and events
• Arrive on time to classroom
• Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times
• Build children’s self-esteem and independence
• Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand
• Observe children and make note of progress
• Conduct parent teacher conferences at least twice a year
• Address parent concerns in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Capabilities
• Be able to lift 25-30 lbs.
• Be able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, swim, and move with children during hikes and outdoor recreation

• Must submit a criminal background check
• Must be up to date with all health vaccinations and tests (including tuberculosis testing) as decided by both the State of California and City Kids School.
