Greenwich Academy seeks a skilled mathematics teacher to teach in the Middle School, primarily in grades seven and eight. Above all, the school seeks an educator who loves working with Middle School students and who is dedicated to helping students of all levels challenge themselves to think critically and creatively. The Mathematics Department at Greenwich Academy provides a challenging, comprehensive education to its students. It strives to foster excellence as faculty help students grow to be independent, resilient learners. All teachers foster the creation of an environment that celebrates the joy of discovery and inspires a passion for learning. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teaching Middle School students and an eagerness to advise and mentor them in all areas of their school lives. Experience with sponsoring math clubs and/or competitive math teams will be an asset.
Successful candidates will be excited to work in a rigorous academic environment and will be eager to immerse themselves in the school community. Greenwich Academy expects all teachers to embrace a commitment to a variety of teaching strategies, to be enthusiastic learners themselves, and to be dedicated to sustaining a culture of anti-racism and anti-bias in our community. Some teaching experience is required, and a master’s degree in math or a related field is preferred but not essential.
