Elgin Academy is a preschool through grade 12 learning community of approximately 225 students located 35 miles northwest of Chicago. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to our Mission of “Inspiring students to become our creative, courageous, and compassionate future.”
We are seeking candidates for the full-time position of Upper School (9-12) Mathematics Teacher starting in August 2021. This person should be prepared to teach a course load that includes Algebra-based mathematics as well as Statistics. This teacher will also develop and team-teach a cross-curricular January Term course with other faculty members. They will be a student advisor and play a leadership role in co-curricular activities such as coaching athletics or sponsoring student organizations. A bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree and/or previous independent school experience.
