Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Upper School English Teacher. The ideal candidate will possess strong content area knowledge, especially in a field like postcolonial or African-American literature; experience teaching academic writing; a passion for teaching adolescents; a history of professional development; effective communication skills with students, families, and colleagues; a commitment to collaboration; and flexibility.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Teach four sections of Upper School English (9th-12th Grade)
Maintain an accurate electronic gradebook
Effectively and supportively communicate with students and families? Provide written and oral feedback on student progress consistently throughout the school year
Advise a club or activity
Demonstrate energetic commitment to professional development
Attend and contribute to meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to departmental, committee, divisional and grade-level meetings? Accompany students on occasional curricular trips
Attend community events throughout the school year
