Loyola Academy is currently seeking a highly qualified individual to teach Architecture and Design for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Bachelors degree in art, design, architecture, or art education required, Masters preferred
Teaching experience and teaching certification preferred, experience working with different levels of learners
Experience teaching architectural design including the iterative process, model making and plan design; experience teaching digital design programs such as autocad, sketchup, or Revit
Knowledge of architectural history and philosophy
Creating content specific lesson plans; preparing and delivering instruction; evaluating student performance; maintaining classroom records; communicating with parents and colleagues; and participating in campus events.
Manage the after school Loyola Academy Chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students
A successful candidate will possess the following:
An ability to motivate students
Deep knowledge of the content area
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents and colleagues
Prior successful teaching experience and commitment to culturally responsive and student-centered pedagogy
