About You You enjoy the challenges that come with overseeing, supporting, maintaining, and developing school wide database systems. Reporting to our Director of Information Technology, you will coordinate and oversee the use of database systems with integration needs across campus wide web application systems. You will provide direct technical support for staff training and communicate professional development opportunities. You are self-motivated and can effectively manage competing priorities with integrity, humor, and sound judgment.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to: • Provide strategic management for efficient data flow across Dexter Southfield’s databases. • Assist in the development and maintenance of data structures and systems to support school community reporting needs. • Assist in the collection, organization, interpretation, and reporting for the school academic divisions' performance and benchmark data. • Assist and provide training for the administrative and leadership teams in developing queries to efficiently use the data tracking KPI and analyzing trends. • Collaborate with instructional team, administrators, teachers, and school leadership teams to analyze data relevant to plans for addressing areas of academic strength and weakness. • Assist Admissions and Business offices in enrollment data workflow and integration support. • Evaluate report and database needs; provide guidance on future systems and integrations. • Evaluate and implement database flows via automated scripted process or manual intervention. • Support various line of business applications with respect to data analysis and structures. • Assist with end user administrative activities (e.g, user creation and security group assignments) • Manage constituent integration between Blackbaud SIS, Finalsite and Raiser's Edge NXT. • Coordinate and execute regular synchronization of data between multiple applications via import and export or custom scripts. • Develop, revise and maintain custom application programming interface (API) using SDK at on-api.developer.blackbaud.com. • Develop policies, procedures, and perform data audits to ensure data integrity and security • Participate in K-12 online Blackbaud community and annual conference. • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related field from an accredited university required; advanced degree preferred • At least three years full-time experience administering, reporting and querying Blackbaud databases • Ability to plan, organize, develop, and communicate improvements in process and flows • Understand SQL scripting for industry standard databases • Understand file types CSV, XLM, Tab Delineated, and API data transfers • Proficiency with and ability to maintain batch processing, scheduling process, SFTP, and SCP • Understand and maintain Single Sign on via SAML, SAML2, and LDAP • Robust troubleshooting and debugging skills • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, and non-verbal) to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and parents • Ability to independently read, analyze, and interpret written materials; write reports and compose correspondence; and present and respond to information with diverse constituencies • Strong detail-oriented management skills overseeing multiple projects and day-to-day tasks • Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts including probability and statistical inference • Application knowledge preferred (and not limited to): Blackbaud’s Raisers Edge NXT, Financial Edge NXT, Microsoft AZURE/ ADFS, Ravenna, Magnus Health, FACTs, Naviance. • Strong MS Excel background. • PowerBI or another data visualization software experience highly desirable • Application of the best practices with database design and maintenance. • Experience with scripts, APIs, and data importing/exporting to synchronize information between applications. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to establish and nurture effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and parents • Desire to contribute to an engaging and inclusive learning environment and workplace • History of continued education or professional development • Uphold confidentiality with regard to school records and other sensitive data information. • Ability to be flexible, effectively manage stress, and adapt to changing work priorities and assignments
