About Fall River Joint Unified School District
Our district is located in the beautiful intermountain area of Northern California. Situated 54 miles east of the city of Redding, it is truly one of the most picturesque areas in California. The two major towns within the district are Burney and Fall River Mills. Mt. Lassen lies to the south and Mt. Shasta to the north.
There are 1200 active young minds in the Fall River Joint Unified School District. The district is comprised of two junior-senior high schools, two elementary schools, one community day school, a special education center and a independent study program to accommodate students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. An elected five-member Board of Trustees governs the organization, operation, plans and procedures of the 1200-square-mile district.
Learning is living. We feel that a quality, well-rounded education is essential in today's modern society. The staff as well as students are encouraged and given the opportunity to become involved in the development of programs for curriculum and work with the principals on instructional improvement. Community participation is very important, and we welcome parents and other members of the community to take part in volunteering at our schools.
