Bay Ridge Prep, a progressive, student-centered, K-12 independent school located in Brooklyn, New York, is seeking a highly qualified Math Teacher to join its Upper School (grades 9-12) faculty for the 2021-2022 academic year. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally well-versed in Common Core Geometry, Common Core Algebra 2 and advanced mathematics (AP and beyond), have a passion for mathematics, will excel in their ability to clearly and effectively communicate content and concepts to all student learners and demonstrate how math is applicable, relevant, and transformational in today’s world. (Computer science knowledge is a plus.)

The ideal candidate should possess at minimum a Masters degree in Math Education, or a Math- or Science-related field. The candidate should have substantive experience as a lead teacher (3+ years ideal), and should be motivated and capable of working with a wide range of students possessing a wide range of capabilities, strengths and weaknesses. We are looking to hire a Math teacher who is passionate about math and the act of teaching it to a diverse population of adolescent learners.
About the position:
This is a full-time position in the mathematics department. Courses would include Common Core Geometry, Common Core Algebra 2, and potentially Pre-calculus, AP Calculus, or Statistics. Knowledge of computer science is also a plus.
Teaching four or five academic courses. Additional responsibilities include advising/moderating an after school club or activity, attending weekly faculty meetings and participating in weekly planning-meetings with other math teachers. Finally, the candidate should be expected to support other school-wide supervisory duties.

403B Retirement Plan with an annual contribution by the school equal to 3% of salary plus a matching contribution equal up to an additional 4% of salary based on the employee’s additional contributions.
Partial reimbursement via insurance plan for gym, fitness club/class membership (subject to the policies of and review by school insurance provider).
