Middle School Math Teacher

The Middle School Math Program begins with the Math in Focus curriculum for 5th and 6th grades and ends with an integrated Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 for 7th and 8th grades. Emphasis is placed on cooperative learning activities, inquiry-based lessons, and problem solving. Most students complete Algebra 1 by the end of their 8th Grade year. The Math teacher collaborates with other middle school faculty to create and facilitate interdisciplinary and project-based learning opportunities. This role includes serving as a student Advisor and helping ensure the smooth functioning of the weekly schedule in 5th through 8th Grades.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education of mathematics preferred. 3-5 years experience teaching math (experience with Singapore math or Math in Focus content is preferable).
