The Superintendent of Schools will use their broad experience to work with the Board of Education, parents, community, faculty, staff, and students to develop a collaborative vision for the district, along with a plan to develop and meet rigorous and highly ambitious goals.
Our next Superintendent will be someone who:
Holds or is eligible for New York State School District Administrator/Leader Certification.
Minimum of 3 years of successful administrative experience required, 5 years preferred. Has a firm understanding of all aspects of district operations, including elementary and middle/high schools as well as familiarity with education regulations.
Is a clear, transparent communicator who keeps staff, students, and the community informed about what’s going on in our schools.
Builds relationships and is a team player, collaborates well, and can listen to and incorporate input from stakeholders. Students, staff, and parents all appreciate a leader who is visible, making their presence known regularly at all schools in the district.
Supports staff with what they need to do their jobs well while also allowing them independence.
Applies the philosophy of being fair and consistent in all matters related to the district.
Is a compassionate, friendly, empathetic person who encourages diversity and inclusion. This person will understand the unique socio-economic landscape of our community.
Is a strong, decisive leader who does the right thing for our district, even when it’s difficult.
Is willing to commit to the district and work to be an active and passionate participant in the community.
Is an open-minded, out-of-the-box thinker who has a strong vision for our district’s future and has a growth mindset.
Puts students first. Maintains and expands current programming, always keeping students’ best interests in mind.
District residency is strongly preferred. Residency in a contiguous community is required if not residing in district.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
Additional Salary Information: Up to $5,000 relocation expenses if candidate resides in the district.
