PLAYSCHOOL OPERATIONS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
After three months of remote learning, Society Hill Synagogue Playschool resumed in-person learning on July 13, 2020, and has operated since then without interruption. In consultation with our staff and COVID-19 Risk Mitigation and Safety Committee, we implemented an updated, comprehensive health and safety policy. We have invested significantly in air purification and ventilation systems, PPE, contactless thermometers, contactless hand sanitizer dispensers, and tents, and other equipment for even more outdoor activities. Sanitization, always a high priority at the school, was adapted for COVID-19 prevention. Everyone is required to wear masks, including all children age 2 or older, and a daily health screening is conducted in person prior to entry into the school.
B.A. required, preferably in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education.
A minimum of three years of teaching experience in a preschool or other work with children as young as 18 months old.
A passion for early childhood education and commitment to progressive educational philosophy.

Familiarity with Jewish values, holidays, and customs is preferred but not required.

ABOUT SOCIETY HILL SYNAGOGUE PLAYSCHOOL
Society Hill Synagogue Playschool is a welcoming, inclusive school that embraces diversity in religion, ethnicity, race, and family structure. We currently serve children ages 2-5 and are excited to expand our program for children as young as 18 months old and to grow our enrollment across ages, as we move into our new learning center and add additional classes.
Our philosophy is child-centered and play-based. We believe that children learn through play in a safe and nurturing environment. We respect children as individuals and respond to their needs with compassion and dedication. Our curriculum integrates age-appropriate math, literacy, and science with free play and socialization activities indoors and outside in our large courtyard and at local parks, thematic projects, art, circle time and singing, and a celebration of Jewish values, holidays, and customs.
