Friends School Haverford is seeking part-time assistant teachers to work in our early childhood classrooms.
Working collaboratively with the Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher supports nursery, preschool, and pre-kindergarten students in a play-based curriculum that incorporates social and emotional learning; language and literacy development; early mathematical thinking; and exploration and discovery. An ideal candidate is someone with experience working with preschool students and who wants to collaborate with colleagues around best practices, can communicate effectively with parents, and has an excellent rapport with young children. Experience working in an early childhood setting is preferred. A college degree is required with a preference given to candidates who have completed coursework in education. All Assistant Teachers are responsible for before-school care beginning at 7 am.
