The Latin Specialist Teacher at Epiphany School is responsible for the school’s Latin program. This includes planning and teaching the curriculum, assessing, evaluating and supervising students, managing the classroom and its supplies and resources, collaborating with classroom teachers and specialists, and participating in robust professional learning and school community events.

This is a part-time (0.5), exempt, academic year position. The expected hours each week will be determined with the Head of School and Division Head.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:

• Plan, teach, and assess curriculum in collaboration with classroom teachers, specialist teachers, Division Heads and Head of School.
• Plan curriculum to meet national Latin standards and current education trends
• Assess and record student learning including progress reports
• Establish and manage classroom culture based on mission and values of the schools
• Manage classroom environment, resources and annual budget
• Implement basic technology in the classroom
• Communicate with families and provide regular input to teacher pages and newsletters

Secondary Duties:

• Provide lunch and recess coverage and arrival and dismissal duties
• Participate in professional learning opportunities at Epiphany and in the greater education community
• Participate in school admission, development, and community events
• Participate in committees and provide input on school decisions
