The Latin Specialist Teacher at Epiphany School is responsible for the school’s Latin program. This includes planning and teaching the curriculum, assessing, evaluating and supervising students, managing the classroom and its supplies and resources, collaborating with classroom teachers and specialists, and participating in robust professional learning and school community events.
This is a part-time (0.5), exempt, academic year position. The expected hours each week will be determined with the Head of School and Division Head.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan, teach, and assess curriculum in collaboration with classroom teachers, specialist teachers, Division Heads and Head of School.
Plan curriculum to meet national Latin standards and current education trends
Assess and record student learning including progress reports
Establish and manage classroom culture based on mission and values of the schools
Manage classroom environment, resources and annual budget
Implement basic technology in the classroom
Communicate with families and provide regular input to teacher pages and newsletters
Provide lunch and recess coverage and arrival and dismissal duties
Participate in professional learning opportunities at Epiphany and in the greater education community
Participate in school admission, development, and community events
Participate in committees and provide input on school decisions
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Teaching Certification and endorsement in grade or field
Ability to multi-task and to maintain professionalism in a creative and changing environment.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; good presentation skills.
Experience and comfort working in a Microsoft environment including MS Office.
Collaborative, motivated, organized and process oriented.
Ability to deal with emergencies.
Commitment to student and family confidentiality.
Ability to lead the program in a virtual environment as needed.

Position typically requires: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Lifting/Carrying: Ability to transport up to twenty (20) pounds.
This position is required to be on-site; work is typically performed at school sites, including the office, classroom, playground, school grounds and general school environment.
