Job Description and Responsibilities
Giddens School is looking for a creative, positive, and dynamic teacher to teach a multi-grade class and to be an active member of a collaborative teaching team. Our ideal candidate will:
Value our school mission and enrich their instruction with a commitment to diversity, social justice, and progressive, integrated learning models
Have deep knowledge of elementary content and pedagogy
Have the ability to build a positive and inclusive classroom community
Be a creative and strong team member; one who enjoys collaboration and views the work of teaching as public practice
Be committed to working with Specialist and Extended Day Teachers in an effort to further connections for students and give collegial mentorship to others
Be an advocate for social responsibility through a strong commitment to academics and social-emotional growth for all students
View student’s families and the greater community as partners in education and value the contributions they can provide
Have three or more years of experience teaching at elementary grade levels

a Masters Degree in Education and/or be Washington State or Nationally Board certified in Elementary Education
deep knowledge of the developmental needs of lower and upper elementary students
strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Giddens School is a preschool through 5th grade school in the center of Seattle. Our current enrollment is 186 students. In 2020 we moved into a newly-constructed, energy-efficient building.
