Grade 4 Lead Teacher – School Year 2021-2022

Position Description Friends Academy, an Independent Quaker Day School, PS-12th grade, is seeking an experienced full-time Grade 4 Lead Teacher for the Fall of 2021 (School Year, 2021-2022). The Grade 4 Lead Teacher will primarily teach math, collaborate on social studies and problem-based learning, and work in partnership with the cooperating teacher who will teach Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop in a semi-departmentalized model that bridges lower school to middle school. Lead teachers should be eager to engage in ongoing collaboration with colleagues on the grade level team, specialist area teachers, and administration. All faculty members are expected to support activities and events that contribute to the life of the school and to attend departmental, divisional, and all-school staff meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. We are seeking dedicated professionals who encapsulate a love of teaching. Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education is required. A Master’s Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education is preferred. Three to five years of teaching experience is required (preferably in an independent school). Previous head teaching experience is preferred.
