Middle School Language Arts Teacher

Harbor Day School is seeking a full-time English and literature teacher for middle school. The position would include teaching sections of English and literature as well as responsibilities as an advisor. We are seeking a high energy teacher with a passion for language arts who enjoys working with students at the middle school level. This person must be able to teach a challenging curriculum of literature, grammar, and essay writing and also should be able to integrate technology into the classroom. 

Specific responsibilities include:

•     Working closely with the language arts department to plan instruction and assessments.
•     Collaborating with other departments to build inter-disciplinary units as appropriate.
•     As part of a grade-level advisory team, planning curriculum and developing connections with a small group of advisees.
•     Supervising students during recesses as assigned.
•     Attending regular faculty meetings, evaluation meetings, and other school events as appropriate.
