Norfolk Collegiate is seeking qualified candidates for an upper school English teaching position for the 2021-2022 academic year. This position will be responsible for teaching upper school core and elective English classes, advising a small group of upper school students and supporting the school’s mission. A successful candidate for this position will have a degree in English or a related discipline; a strong background in world, British, and American literature; excellent organizational and communication skills; and experience teaching writing to adolescents. Experience teaching Advanced Placement courses is a plus. Ideal candidates will have teaching experience in an upper school setting and a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches to learning. We seek teachers who are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about teaching young adults. Candidates should be interested in working with students from a variety of backgrounds who possess a range of abilities and learning styles. This position requires collaborative work with others; therefore, this individual must be able to work effectively with colleagues and parents.
