The President is the chief executive of the operational vitality for the system, including development/advancement, marketing/enrollment, finances, and capital projects, while overseeing all aspects of school life. The President leads and articulates the school's mission and vision, creates and implements strategic plans, and builds and nurtures relationships. Applicants must foster a strong Catholic identity, value diversity, and possess effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
While the President must have a demonstrated capacity for broad institutional leadership, it is possible that the prospective President could have attained this experience through a variety of different career paths, including primary, secondary, or tertiary education; non-profit management; or work in the corporate or public sector. Regardless of the career path, the prospective President must have expert knowledge of and a proven record of institutional advancement by identifying, cultivating, and developing stakeholder partnerships and philanthropic support that will ensure its continued accessibility, success, and sustainability. An advanced degree in education or business-related fields is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Catholic education, possess an understanding of the President/Principal model of administration, and be comfortable leading a committed board of trustees. Additionally, the successful candidate will have expertise in business and financial management, as well as a proven track record of acquiring necessary funding through the solicitation of major gifts and capital campaign contributions. He or she must be experienced with strategic planning and have the requisite executive-level experience to lead a school community. With a visible executive presence in and outside of the school community, the President must be able to advance the marketing and institutional advancement initiatives of the school.
Applicants must be practicing Roman Catholics in good standing with the Church who have demonstrated their commitment to servant leadership. He or she reports to and is evaluated by the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the diocese in collaboration with the Board of Directors. Preferred candidates will have a master's degree and/or equivalent work experience and a track record of building community and serving others.
