Newtown Friends School is seeking an outstanding, energetic, and fluent candidate for the full time position of Middle School Spanish Teacher. Applicants should have at least three years of relevant teaching experience. Candidates for the position must be familiar and comfortable with Immersion language programs and relevant methodologies. Newtown Friends School has achieved candidacy status for the Middle Years Program of the International Baccalaureate, and so candidates with IB experience are sought.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline is required. An advanced degree is desired. The successful candidate will have excellent rapport with and knowledge of elementary school students and enjoy working with them in a variety of school activities in addition to classroom teaching. Candidates must have the ability to work well collaboratively with colleagues. Spanish language proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking is required along with the ability to conduct classes in the target language. We seek candidates with expertise in providing students active, hands-on experiences that incorporate digital media technology. Candidates should have a desire to mentor and support students' development of the necessary academic, social, and attitudinal skills to achieve 21st-Century leadership. Familiarity with Responsive Classroom and Quaker education is advantageous.
