Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a Middle School English teacher, Grades 5- 8, beginning September 2021.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in English as well as exemplary experience as an English and/or Language Arts teacher in the upper elementary and middle grades.  Strong candidates will place a high value on differentiated instruction and have experience working with students in a writing workshop.

Responsibilities will include a full-time teaching load of four sections, advising a group of 8-10 students, additional supervision duties, and attending grade-level and faculty meetings.

The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional understanding of student learning needs, strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, a passion for Middle School students, a commitment to an equitable classroom culture inclusive of varied student experiences, an awareness of how race, gender, and other aspects of identity manifest themselves in the classroom, an ability to work cooperatively and generously with colleagues, a commitment to ongoing professional development, an eagerness to build community both within the school and with community partners, and a sense of humor.
