Additionally, a qualified teacher will be a dedicated student of teaching methods and student-centered engagement, incorporate contextualized project and field-based learning opportunities into their classrooms and emphasize self-reflection as an assessment strategy and vehicle to encourage growth. As reflective practitioners, our approach to professional oversight and development is rooted in routine self, peer, and administrative evaluation. BA/BS in science, and/or related field
The ability to effectively teach high school biology and chemistry without a formal/traditional science laboratory.
The ability to incorporate and lead active, hands-on field studies for biology and chemistry that take place throughout the city.
Active problem solver
The capacity to be organizationally flexible and change course quickly
Relentlessly empathetic, compassionate, kind, caring, and supportive
Recommended experience with:
Project-based and experiential learning
Digital, Online, Hybrid, and E-Learning
G-Suite and Educational Platforms (we use Blackbaud)
Differentiated Instruction within a classroom and working with neurodiverse students
Teaching (typically 5 course sections + leadership of an “Impact Learning” (experience-based class)
Sections for this position will likely include 2 sections of Chemistry and 2 sections Biology, but this is subject to change and contingent upon enrollment.
Advising or Co-Advising (typically 7 - 10 students)
Design and leadership of co-curricular activities (typically 2 out of 3 seasons)
Ability to teach in person and be on campus regularly between the hours of 8:30 and 5:00 during the academic year
$45,000 - $70,000 depending on experience.

This is a full-year position that roughly includes 50 days of Paid Time Off, including regular school holidays and vacations.
