Oakwood is seeking an outstanding full-time elementary art teacher for our lower school Kindergarten-5th grade. This position is for the 2021-2022 school year beginning in August 2021.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Plan, supervise and implement curriculum as the elementary art education teacher • Design and implement elementary art show • Work in partnership and collaborate with other teachers, educators, parents and specialists to develop curriculum, plan trips, and coordinate special projects as related to the position. • Work and communicate effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences, written reports, newsletters, and other school-approved channels. • Other duties as assigned • Support and follow school policies and procedures • Be a positive and contributing member of the Oakwood community
Position Qualifications • Passion to work with young children and their families • Previous experience as a teacher at the elementary level • Excellent verbal and written communications skills • Warm demeanor with high expectations
