Reporting to the Controller - US Operations, leads and develops the Materials Team with the sourcing and contracting of a large variety of goods and services including capital equipment and support of maintenance, facilities and production. The Supply Chain Superintendent will drive projects with contractors and suppliers at the Mesquite Mine and Castle Mountain Venture as well as coordination and interaction with other Equinox Gold locations that will occur in areas of commonality. Performs special projects related to materials management and other duties as required.
Lead and train the department in supply chain and contracting requirements
Build relationships within the company and with external parties such as suppliers and contractors
Develop and execute category strategies
Negotiate and develop contracts form the RFP/RFQ through negotiations and review to the final document. Support user departments in the contract management process
Provide mentoring to others in the department with development of contracts, RFP's and assist with large purchases
Participate in cost reduction initiatives and joint improvement programs, look for value opportunities in the procurement and logistics processes
Lead sourcing related projects, including projects to improve system efficiencies. Develop KPI's for such projects
Resolve contractor and supplier performance issues where needed to prevent recurrence
Coordinate with the warehouse supervisor on warehouse activities and inventory management
Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
Other duties as assigned and as needed in the department
Minimum of ten (10) years' experience. Demonstrated leadership, collaboration and contracts experience including negotiations and experience with large purchases
Proficient in Microsoft Office
ERP experience with SAP experience a plus
Professional certification is preferred. If no professional certification be willing to obtain and maintain an acceptable professional certification within three years
4-year Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or Engineering or possessing equivalent experience. MBA is a plus
Demonstrated self-starter. Organized, detail oriented, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
