Pace is looking for an experienced Middle School Spanish Teacher for the 2021-2022 academic year. He/she/they will teach one (1) section of Spanish.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares course objectives and outlines for courses of study in conjunction with other Middle School faculty, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school
Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops
Effectively incorporates principles of diversity, equity and inclusion in teaching and classroom culture
Attends training, professional development and education in antiracism, diversity, equity and inclusion
Communicates effectively with parents in a timely manner
Leads parent-teacher conferences
Other duties may be assigned
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. One or both must be in Spanish.
Demonstrated success in teaching middle school Spanish required (at least two years of experience)
Oral proficiency in Spanish, including the ability to conduct class taught in the target language
Strong sense of humor, flexibility and desire to work with middle school students is required
Belief in the critical importance of diversity, equity and inclusion in the life of a school so as to foster a sense of belonging
Must be available for after-school student help
Attendance at evening and weekend functions is occasionally required
Proficient use of technology is necessary
Must be able to work on campus, for in-person learning
