Woodlands Academy is seeking a Chief Development Officer. The Chief Development Officer reports to and works closely with the Head of School, is a member of the Leadership Team, and serves as administrative liaison to the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees. The Chief Development Officer is responsible for the overall leadership and management of all fundraising efforts, cultivating and stewarding relationships with a wide range of donors, grant funders, and volunteers, and thoughtful and strategic leadership in support of the mission of the school. The Chief Development Officer should possess the ability to balance attention to detail with a view of the larger picture, patience, a sense of humor, creative problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple projects at one time, and a commitment and desire to serve in a Sacred Heart school.

Manage and supervise Development Office operations and personnel
Actively participate in Development Office operations, including annual fundraising, prospect research and cultivation, key stakeholder development, major gifts, and fundraising events
Formulate and manage strategic vision for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of short- and long-term philanthropic giving to support the school’s mission, operation, and sustainability
Oversee annual fund, planned giving, grant research and writing, database analytics and management, special events, and alumnae relations
Plan and lead periodic capital and endowment campaigns
Serve as a member of the Development Committee
Prepare and maintain analytical reports related to the school’s development efforts
Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, supporting the goals of the Head of School, Leadership Team, and Board of Trustees, and other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements and Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree
CFRE a plus
Minimum 10 years’ experience working in development
Technology skills including Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge, Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability and desire to support, implement, and model the Goals and Criteria for Sacred Heart Schools
Ability to manage a variety of projects with minimal supervision
High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
Available to work nights, weekends, and extended days as needed
