Conversational English: Approximately 55 of our 132 foreign faculty teach Conversational English classes offered to Freshman and Sophomores. Primary School Openings: SiasU operates a Chinese Primary school. The foreign faculty teaches English and only needs to be there during the time they are teaching, and can come and go when not teaching the class. In this position, there is less in-class Chinese language support. Each year another grade level is added to the primary school. Fall 2020 there will be grades 1-8. We have five foreign faculty working in the Primary School teaching English through song, activities and playtime. Teacher/Media Ambassadors: Ambassadors are full-time faculty who also capture expat faculty, university students, and university international student lifestyles, testimonials, and highlights through video, photos, and blog articles. Their joint efforts can make a video like this:
May 15 - Application Deadline. (applying by February 1st preferred)
April-May - Interviews and Job Offers. There are two interviews. The first interview provides the opportunity to share about your experiences and what motivates you to join Sias faculty and to hear about various aspects of life at Sias and the process of joining the staff. The second interview is with the team leader for the department one would work in. The interviewer may ask questions about how one handles difficult students in the classroom or what experience one has with EFL students.
May 15 - Email two recommendation letters for processing work visa (one letter emphasizing academic ability and the other emphasizing ability to serve, cross-cultural aptitude or to emphasize adaptability/heart of service leadership).
May 20 - Deadline to sign the employment offer letter.
June 10 - Send documents to our Los Angeles office (passport, authenticated diploma and medical clean bill of health paperwork).
June 10 - Email school a doctor's physical to testify of no contagious diseases.
July 1 - School pays for plane tickets to depart from an international port city.
July 25-August 10 - Teachers may be in China early to go through quarantine.?
August 10-14 - New Teachers Arrive at Sias University!
August 16-20 - New Teacher Orientation.
August 23-27 - All-Teacher Meetings.
August 30 - Fall Classes Begin!

• Bachelor's degree or higher. • Teaching experience preferred (if you have less than 2-years of teaching experience you will need a China-Approved TEFL certificate). • TEFL or similar certificates preferred.
