Grammar School Swim & Physical Education Teacher
The Grammar School Swim & Physical Education (PE) Teacher is a qualified physical education and swim teacher with experience teaching children in PreK - 4th Grade. The teacher must hold a degree in Physical Education or related field. The Grammar School Swim & PE Teacher holds primary responsibility for implementation of the CGPS PE & Swim curriculum and assessment of student progress, promoting and supporting student health, wellness, and fitness. The Grammar School Swim & PE Teacher is committed to continuously improving curriculum, instruction and performance through collaboration as part of a content area team.
Create unit and lesson plans reflecting sequential learning which includes fitness activities, cooperative games, and traditional/non-traditional sports while cultivating students’ personal growth and promoting inclusivity.
Prepare swim lessons for students of all abilities, which includes water safety and adjustments skills, as well as beginner, intermediate and advanced strokes.
Use department guidelines to maintain records, evaluate students and write report cards accordingly
Collaborate positively and respectfully with members of the Physical Education Department, other colleagues, school administrators, and parents
Maintain a gymnasium and pool/locker room environment that is safe and organized
7:45am to 3:30pm, 7:45am to 4:30pm on Department and Faculty Meeting days

Certifications ? A degree in Physical Education or related field
First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification
Lifeguard Certification and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Qualifications
Degree in PE / Swim or related field
Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum of three years teaching experience, preferably in grades pre-k through fourth grade

Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player
