St. John’s Prep seeks a religious studies teacher for grades 9-12 for the 2021-2022 school year. The Religious Studies Department in the High School offers a four-year program that “seeks to educate the whole student – intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. We share the conviction that a student enriches his education when he incorporates in-depth theological exploration in his academic program.” (St. John’s Prep website). A complete listing of Religious Studies courses and their descriptions can be found here.
Religious Studies teachers at St. John’s Preparatory School teach five (5) classes and are required to complete a “duty” period during each semester. Prospective candidates should have the competency and passion to engage every student in a rigorous college preparatory curriculum which provides a theological foundation to better inform the student’s faith experience. Candidates should also have a desire to become an active and collegial member of an adult community of learners. We seek candidates who are open and willing to embrace a student-centered digital learning model that incorporates education technology tools, open education resources, and varied instructional strategies.
