Friends Community School (FCS) is seeking Lead Teachers for our summer camp program with flexible week-long commitments between June 14, 2021, through August 20, 2021. The compensation for this position is $200 per day.
Duties of Summer Camp Teacher:
Provide a curriculum/lesson plan to the Camp Director one week before the camp program start date. All activities must be age-appropriate. The provided curriculum becomes the property of Friends Community School.
Submit supply list and total cost estimate to Camp Director for approval. Order, receive and organize needed supplies in advance of the camp session. Submit receipts and reimbursement form to Camp Director for processing.
Using lesson plan, plan and lead agreed-upon summer camp program, including all preparation and clean-up.
Direct and supervise assistant teachers assigned to your session.
Participate in training and orientation sessions prior to the start of camp
Complete and return all requirement licensing forms to the Camp Director two weeks prior to the camp program start date.
Hours of Summer Camp Teacher:
All setup, planning, and preparation must be completed by or before 8:30 AM.
An assistant counselor or counselor-in-training (CIT) may be available to assist in prep work.
Teachers of full-day sessions receive a half-hour lunch break.
Teachers are expected to provide coverage for scheduled lunch or recess duty.
Cleanup must be completed each day after camper dismissal at 3:00.
Clean up and remove materials by 5:00 PM on the final day of each session. Check out with the camp manager.
Teaching experience required. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree and/or have completed 120 credits.
Strong technology, organizational and communication skills.
Additional qualities include flexibility, patience, a sense of humor and a demonstrated love for working with young children and their families.
Successful candidates will need to be able to successfully complete all background checking requirements at the time of hire. Present a negative COVID-19 PCR result from a test taken no more than three days prior to the first day on site, and participate in subsequent routine testing for COVID-19 as well as adherence to all health and safety protocols associated with working on campus.
