Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School is seeking a full time Middle School Learning Resource Teacher to provide history and science content support for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students with diagnosed learning disabilities for the 2021-2022 school year. Candidates must be certified in special education in order to apply. Experience teaching in middle school and the private school sector preferred.
Middle School Learning Resource Teacher Responsibilities:
Possess a clear and current understanding of student learning profiles and accommodations and be able to share that with faculty, students, and parents.
Effectively communicate student progress and develop strategies to support a student’s individual learning difference or disability.
Explore and implement innovative technology and/or teaching approaches to create dynamic history and science lessons and new ways to engage with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
Keep records and notes of progress and achievements of your assigned students. Recommendations should be made to the student and shared with their parents to support their continued growth and progress.
Foster a close working relationship with the faculty of shared students to glean information that will support the students in all of their classes and assist them in developing ways to reach their students.
Maintain timely and appropriate communication with parents through email and conferences.
Share observations and feedback in grade level team meetings.
Assist in maintaining effective communication for students in lower school and upper school divisions.
Represent the department in the school and community and take part in developing educational trainings with faculty as well as parent educational meetings.
Collaborate with colleagues on ways to continuously improve programs within and across divisions.
Attend professional development trainings as it relates to staying current with licensure and learning resource models.
Serve on cross-divisional committees and advisory roles as deemed fit by the Middle School Principal.
