Stone Ridge is seeking a Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to begin work on August 16, 2021.

The Middle School English Language Arts Teacher is responsible for teaching English Language Arts, in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education. Working closely with colleagues in the English Language Arts Department and throughout the Middle School, s/he creates and updates plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum. S/he actively collaborates with Learning Strategists, Educational Technologists, the Middle School Counselor, and Middle School Librarian to develop strategies to support all students. S/he attends all faculty and employee meetings, serves as a student Advisor, fulfills other faculty duties, and maintains good communication with families about student progress through regular progress reports and responses to parents’ inquiries.
The ideal candidate:
has experience teaching Language Arts at the Middle School or Elementary level in Catholic, independent, Charter, and/or public schools.
has experience with readers and writers workshops.
holds an advanced degree in a related field.
demonstrates familiarity with/has experience teaching in the model of Understanding by Design.
possesses a capacity for working with a range of learning abilities and experience integrating appropriate educational technologies into her/his teaching.
demonstrates a collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, and creativity. An early career candidate is encouraged to apply, especially if s/he has an interest in developing the pedagogy, career, and profession of education.
