Upper Campus Middle School English teacher (Grades 6-9) 2021-22 School Year
Qualified candidates will have experience and demonstrate skill in teaching the writing process, which includes extensive focus on critical writing, grammar, usage, and mechanics. In addition, candidates should have experience teaching speech and presentation skills as well as literary analysis. Preferred candidates are passionate about instilling a love of reading in young people and are well-read in not only the classics but also recent works of young adult and middle grade literature.
Additional duties typically include advising, coaching, sponsoring a club or activity and participating in faculty meetings and professional development.
Flexibility, creativity, a sense of humor, strong work ethic and a commitment to be a collaborative team member are all critically important.
All applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree and a concentration in English. A minimum of five to seven years teaching experience at the middle or secondary level is preferred, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfort with integrating technology into the curriculum and a passion for working with children.
