The successful candidate will be a master educator who displays passion for teaching math; other responsibilities and competencies include:
Teaching 5 sections of mathematics (primarily Geometry for at least 2021-22) and other courses across the curriculum based on interest and ability (including possibly higher level content such as AP Calculus BC, Multivariable Calculus and elective offerings partnering with other STEM related departments);
Coaching a sport is highly desirable;
Connecting with students, challenging them, and working with students with diverse backgrounds and perspectives;
Advising approximately 12 students and facilitating the integration of our “Lead from Here” curriculum;
Demonstrating effective technology skills, including the ability to use our learning management systems (Canvas and Veracross) and to use graphing calculators and other mathematical tools;
Serving on committees and/or leading an active student club;
Demonstrating a growth mindset and the ability to receive feedback, adapt to different learners’ needs, and become a valued colleague in a strong and cohesive department.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field; Master’s degree highly desirable; experience teaching Mathematics required.
