The Montessori Day School seeks candidates for Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher positions for the 2021-2022 school year, possible start with our summer program in July. We seek candidates with a strong knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and foundational skills. Candidates should also be familiar with Montessori philosophy; dedicated to equity and a life long learner.
Responsibilities (Lead Teacher)
Must be skilled in preparing and maintaining an emotionally responsive, nurturing, accepting, and safe classroom environment.
Plans and implement Montessori curriculum
Works collaboratively with others
Conducts family conferences/writes child reports
Attends faculty meetings
Meets with administration monthly to discuss student growth and curriculum.
Lead Teacher Candidates MUST have a NYS certification in Early Childhood. Bachelor's required, Master's preferred.
Assistant Teacher Candidates: Bachelor's degree in education preferred, plus experience working collaboratively in early childhood settings.
Additional Salary Information: Salary based on educational experience and degree.
