7:30am- 4:00 PM for Language Immersion Teachers, Assistants (Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin), and Specialists (English)
9:30am- 6:00pm Floating Aide & Extended-day Group Leader or Assistant - English
3:00pm- 5:45pm for Extended-day Group Leader - English
This position is located on-site at The International School campus.

We are interviewing now & hiring for dynamic Substitutes at The International School to assist as needed throughout the school year and during our award winning language immersion Summer Camp!
We are hiring On-call Substitutes who have native-level fluency of either: Mandarin, Spanish, Japanese, or English to work in our Early Childhood, Extended-day (after school), and Summer Camp programs. The International School provides a warm multicultural environment where our students are fully immersed in Spanish, Japanese or Mandarin language and culture. Substitutes who cover Teachers and Assistants will use the target language throughout their shift. Subs who cover Specialists and Extended-day Program shifts will speak in English throughout their shift.

The ideal candidate will be able to follow lesson plans while adapting to student needs and dedicated to meeting the needs of diverse student learners. They will be committed to being a collaborative team player who can work together with students, colleagues, the administrative team, and families and will be proactive and flexible.
The International School is follows state guidelines for working under Covid-19 which include: maintaining 6 feet physical distance, wearing appropriate PPE, maintaining stable cohorts, and doing additional cleaning and disinfecting.
The International School has small class sizes, with an average class size of 14 students. We also have an engaged school community with supportive and interactive parents, where our multicultural environment is appreciated and celebrated.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
During peak activity periods, this position may require working in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week.
Capable of quickly traveling to multiple locations on school campus including up and down hills, lifting or otherwise carrying 40 pounds, traveling up/down flights of stairs, standing and sitting for long durations, typing for continuous hours on a computer keyboard, and reading information on a computer screen.
Ability to handle the physical demands of working with children ages three through five
At least one year of Lead Teacher experience to sub for Teachers, Specialists, or Group Leaders
Native level fluency in English to sub for Extended-day and Specialist positions
Native level fluency in the target language along with demonstrated ability to teach the target language to Sub for Teachers and Teacher Assistants
At least 1 year experience teaching preschool or elementary school-age children
A Bachelor's degree in Education or Elementary/Early Childhood Education is preferred
Knowledge and understanding of Inquiry Based-Primary Years Program pedagogy is a plus
Experience teaching in an immersion program
Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
Experience using technology in the classroom
Candidates offered a position must be able to pass a background check through Oregon Office of Child Care and complete all requirements of the Oregon Office of Childcare (which can be completed upon hire)
Candidates offered a position must provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
