The Science Department at The Episcopal Academy is looking to add a Physics teacher for a one-year position. The Department has recently rolled out a new curriculum, creating a need for this temporary position. We are looking for a student-centered educator who is passionate about Physics and eager to share that passion with Upper School students.
Who You Are
While there are many professional journeys that lead to a science classroom, we are looking for most of the following for this one-year position:
You have strong training, experience, or course work in Physics, even if your degree is in another discipline
You're deeply committed to working with all students and believe in the immense potential of all children regardless of their background
You are a growth-minded educator constantly looking to improve and grow your teaching tool kit
You're a team player and collaborator who recognizes the value of diverse perspectives
You're a strong communicator, capable of connecting with students, parents, and colleagues in meaningful ways
You're passionate about guided inquiry-based, lab-intensive approach to teaching science
Bonus points for experience teaching online courses; facility with LMSs, Google Suite, science-specific lab simulations sites; research in a specific science field. A sense of humor is always welcome.
