Position Information Kindergarten Teacher Temporary Leave Replacement, August-October 2021
St. Edmund’s Academy seeks a dedicated and dynamic teacher with a minimum of 3 years of current experience for a Kindergarten teacher position. The Kindergarten teacher works collaboratively with an Associate Kindergarten teacher and a second Kindergarten team with the same configuration. Both Kindergarten classes share some common space but are independent Kindergarten classrooms.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching language arts, math, science, social studies, the Pollyanna Racial Literacy curriculum and Second Step SEL classes, in addition to ‘homeroom’ teacher responsibilities. The Kindergarten teacher will be responsible for designing curriculum, planning lessons, and working closely with the Director of Early Childhood & Lower School to ensure alignment of the school’s philosophy in curriculum and practices.
The candidate must demonstrate familiarity with racial literacy, equity, and anti-racist pedagogy. The ability to be collaborative, detail-oriented and innovative and have cross-cultural competency is essential.
Teachers dedicated to meeting the academic and personal needs of the students and collaborating with colleagues and parents should apply. A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education is preferred.
