Middle School Science Teacher Leave Replacement Fall 2021 Beginning August 26, 2021
Position: Middle School Science Teacher, leave replacement Reports to: Middle School Division Head and Science Department Chairperson FLSA: Exempt, full-time
The MS Science teacher (leave replacement) will join a highly collaborative, innovative, and experienced faculty. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest in middle school education, and the ability to relate and communicate effectively and appropriately with middle school female students.
Courses: but not limited to
8th grade Physical Science (three sections)
6th grade Physical Science (one section)
Provide academic support for students outside of class time (answering homework questions, consulting with them, as needed;
Attend department and faculty meetings.
Support the students and division by covering study halls, lunch duties and other assignments as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Undergraduate science major
MA degree preferred
Previous teaching experience preferred
Knowledge of, appreciation for, and demonstrated commitment to anti-racist, anti-bias education, multicultural teaching, and culturally responsive pedagogy
Proficient with current educational technology, especially blended learning platforms and strategies.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communications skills
Positive team player with a desire to contribute and share your gifts and talents with the students and administration of the school
