The Primary School Science Teacher is a full-time position in the Primary School. The Primary Science Teacher will work with K-3rd grade. The science teacher will work collaboratively with the other science teachers at Lowell and classroom teachers across multiple grade levels to deliver a rigorous, integrated theme-based curriculum.
Candidates must have experience in and a passion for life science, physical science, and outdoor education.
Candidates should have experience in integration and STEM.
Candidates should possess knowledge of the social, emotional, and academic needs of children.
Candidates should be familiar with and have experience in curriculum design and mapping using Understanding by Design.
Candidates should be able to work collaboratively with the other science teachers at Lowell and classroom teachers across multiple grade levels to deliver a rigorous, integrated theme-based curriculum.
Candidates should be inspired by Lowell’s mission and have a commitment to social justice, equality, and cultural competence.
Candidates must have a Master’s in elementary education and science.
Candidates must be ready to teach in an experiential lab setting that combines learning by doing with more traditional pedagogical techniques that challenge and inspire inquiry.
Candidates should have a good sense of humor and a child-centered approach.
