COJOWA is seeking a lower elementary teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Because of the nature of hybrid learning environments, the ideal candidate is able to develop relationships with students and families and maintain a high degree of communication. We are seeking creative and innovative teachers who are able to build community and engage students dynamically in an online and an in-person learning environment. Candidates must work collaboratively to support the social emotional well-being of students.
A willingness to design academically integrated experiences that encourage learning through project-based learning. Prior teaching experience in a virtual setting preferred. Candidates will demonstrate digital literacy and the ability to lead an engaging learning atmosphere. Candidates will possess a strong belief in the importance of community building in both a virtual and in-person setting. Candidates will have a strong grasp of standards along with foundational knowledge of early literacy.
The ideal candidate will have experience in or a quick-to-learn mindset with the following programs:
1) Balanced Literacy- Supported by the Units of Study (Readers and Writers Workshop and Phonics) (Common Core)
2) Mathematics- Eureka and ZEARN platforms (Common Core)
3) Science- Amplify Science (NGSS)
4) Social Studies- C3 Framework (Common Core)
