Carolina Friends School (CFS) is excited to offer the opportunity for a part-time guest teacher of 8- to 10-year olds to join our staff in the academic school year 2021-2022. This is a one year teaching appointment. The teacher will join a Lower School staff of skilled, dedicated teachers committed to the growth of the whole child and continually developing a student-centered, mission-driven curriculum. As a member of a collaborative classroom team of six teachers and 62 children, this teacher will be responsible for teaching both in small groups and with larger groups, planning developmentally appropriate curriculum, maintaining close communication with parents, and writing in-depth narrative assessments of students. In addition, this teacher will attend weekly staff meetings, serve on school-wide committees, benefit from our new staff mentoring program, and participate in school-wide staff development.

The anticipated work schedule for this part-time, 70% position will be mornings, Monday through Friday; one day a week staying into the afternoon based on your classroom’s schedule; and staff meetings Wednesday afternoons, 3:30-5:00 pm.
