The Assistant Superintendent should be a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude and passion for the turf industry. While previous experience is not required, it is preferred. The ideal candidate must be strong in team environment dynamics, able to manage and prioritize daily tasks, and have a keen attention to detail. Communication and organizational skills are crucial to the role. The position will be intricately involved in all agronomic, financial and personnel planning and prioritizing efforts with a goal of development for a career path of success.
Two- or four-year turfgrass management degree or related field
Maryland State Pesticide & Fertilizer Applicators Licenses, or the ability to obtain them within 90 days of employment
Valid driver’s license
Spanish literate preferred
Ability to meet the physical demands and responsibilities of the position. While regularly performing the essential functions of the job, be standing, sitting and lifting/moving items or objects over 50 pounds and sometimes lift/move items up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work in all weather conditions
2 seasons of golf course work experience preferred
