Tahoe Mountain Club is a four-season Social Club focused on creating unforgettable mountain moments that allow members and guests to build upon family traditions, embark on new adventures, and create lifelong friendships while sharing all that Tahoe has to offer. We are located within the beautiful mountain town of Truckee, California, minutes away from Lake Tahoe. The Club operates Old Greenwood and Gray’s Crossing Championship golf courses, swim tennis and fitness centers at Old Greenwood and Gray’s Crossing, Alpine Club ski valet and lounge in the village at Northstar California, and Schaffer’s Camp on-mountain dining at Northstar. In total the Club operates four restaurants, each with their own unique dining experience and offering. The Club’s well established private and public venues offer a range of services including traditional breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, Member events, weddings and group golf functions.
As a member of the Golf Course Maintenance Team, the First Assistant Superintendent helps coordinate daily operations of the golf maintenance staff—meeting or exceeding established standards for employee satisfaction, guest satisfaction, sales, and financial performance. This position reports to the Superintendent.
Degree in Turfgrass Management, Landscape, Horticulture, Agronomy or similar field, preferred or the equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Two years’ related experience in a related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to obtain a California Pesticide License.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
Must demonstrate initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
Must possess basic computational ability as well as budgetary analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Must be able to lead by example by taking a proactive position to all issues concerning the golf maintenance staff.
Must have strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent customer services skills and an ability to respond to the needs and requests of coworkers and clients.
Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
Tahoe Mountain Club owns and operates 2 championship golf courses in the Lake Tahoe region, Old Greenwood Golf Course (a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design and host of the PGA Tour's Barracuda Championship) and The Golf Club at Gray's Crossing (a Peter Jacobsen Design opened in 2007)
