St. Maria Goretti Catholic School in Westfield, Indiana, a twice-honored National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, is actively seeking a principal for the 2021-2022 academic school year. St. Maria Goretti offers over 475 students in grades Pre-K through 8th an opportunity to grow daily in mind, body and spirit. The school fosters academic excellence within a nurturing environment reinforced by an outstanding teaching and support staff, caring parents, a compassionate parish community and led by pastor Fr. Brian Dudzinski. Working closely with the pastor and the Office of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana, the principal has chief responsibility for the operation of the school. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lives and models the faith of Jesus Christ, the Master Teacher, in words and actions and can articulate the mission of the school to alumni, parents, faculty, staff and the wider community;
Is responsible for building and reinforcing a strong school culture through faith-based leadership;
Serves as the primary school representative to parents, the School Commission, the parish, and the community;
Is responsible for budgeting and financial management;
Oversees the professional development and leadership of the faculty and staff.
Criteria: To be considered for this position, the candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with a deeply rooted Catholic identity. He or she must have a commitment to diversity, possess exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, and exhibit a passion for student achievement and academic excellence. Applicants must possess or be working toward, a valid Indiana administrator's license. Safe and Sacred Training and related background checks are required.
