Triangle Day School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join our early childhood team. With our school being in a period of great growth, we are looking for someone to bring energy and fresh ideas to our community. This person will be responsible for supporting our TK or Kindergarten staff and students with their academic day and beyond.
A strong applicant should be patient, kind, flexible, and enjoy working on a team, as our teachers work closely with one another and contribute greatly to the wider TDS community. We value faculty who are involved in school life within and beyond the classroom, such as coaching or directing an extracurricular club, to enrich our vibrant community.
Assist with daily tasks and activities in the classroom.
Enforce classroom rules, monitor student behavior, and help reinforce the reward/discipline system.
Supervise children at lunch, recess, rest time, in the hallways, and more, ensuring that the students remain safe and on task.
Provide supplemental individualized and small group instruction.
Communicate effectively with young children.
Collaborate with the teachers to develop lesson plans and instructional materials, bringing fun and experiential learning into the classroom whenever possible.
Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other staff members in assessing and aiding in bringing students to their full potential.
Stand in as classroom teacher when the lead teacher is absent
Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and through self-selected professional growth activities.
Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
1+ years of teaching experience with children ages 3-5
Passion for nurturing the curiosity and creativity of students
Eagerness to collaborate with colleagues across divisions and departments
Familiarity with instructional technology, both for teaching and communication
Creativity to make daily tasks interesting and enjoyable for children to help them learn new skills
Resourcefulness to help explain information in a way that matches the student’s learning style
Excellent communication skills with people of different ages and backgrounds, from parents and children to colleagues
Patience to remain calm and positive while working with children of different developmental backgrounds
Attention to detail to spot when a child is having difficulty with something or needs assistance
Additional Salary Information:
Ten-month year (August-June)
Salary in accordance with certification and experience
School contract hours run Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
